Eagles earn trio of ASUN awards

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis earned three Atlantic Sun Conference honors, the conference announced today. Hugo Magnusson was a unanimous first team selection, Guglielmo Stefanacci was a second team selection and CJ Smith was named to the All-Freshman team.

Sophomore Hugo Magnusson was named to the All-ASUN team for the second straight year. The Swedish sensation was a second team and all-freshman team last year. Magnusson finished the year 12-8 in singles and 12-9 in doubles, highlighted by a win over the No. 106 ranked player in the country in straight sets when the Eagles traveled to Gainesville.

Stefanacci wrapped up his career with a 14-2 record across singles and doubles conference action. The second team honor is the highest he has earned during his time in Fort Myers.

Redshirt freshman CJ Smith posted a 5-2 mark in singles action in conference play. Overall, he had an 8-12 record in singles action.

The Green and Blue are the three seed in the ASUN Tournament, looking to win three matches to secure the conference championship.
