Box Score Anjali Kotecha clinched the match for Florida Gulf Coast University women's tennis as the team endured multiple rain delays to deliver a 4-3 win against North Alabama Sunday in Florence, Alabama.
This is the first Atlantic Sun Conference loss for the Lions this season and fourth straight win for FGCU over UNA.
North Alabama (13-3, 5-1 ASUN) won the doubles point to get the day started.
Francisca Vergara got the Eagles (11-7, 5-2 ASUN) on the scoreboard winning 6-4, 6-2 on court No. 5.
UNA regained the lead when
Ashley Matz fell 6-2, 7-6 (6) on court No. 1.
Isabella Colmenares stepped up and put the Green & Blue back in the fight with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 victory.
Nora Svensson gave the Eagles the lead on court No. 4 and won 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 but the Lions didn't back down so easily and
Paloma Goldsmith dropped her match on court No. 6 with a 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 showing.

Anjali Kotecha she dropped the first set 1-6 but rallied on with a 7-5, 6-4 victory to clinch the match for FGCU. Â
The Eagles will remain on the road and head to Jacksonville, Florida to face North Florida (9-5, 5-0 ASUN) Friday at 11 a.m.
