FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer senior defender
Victor Lopes was named the ASUN Defender of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Lopes earned the honor following a stellar performance in FGCU's 1-0 win over North Florida on Saturday. The Atibaia-SP, Brazil, native anchored the back line of the Eagles defense, warding off nine shots and six corner kicks en route to the shutout victory.
Lopes has led the FGCU defense all season, playing a team high 1,216 minutes across 14 games with a goal and assist.
Next, FGCU continues ASUN action at Stetson at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25.
