Box Score DELAND, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University's men's soccer team got a second-half goal from
Ignatius Demark to help lift the Eagles to a crucial 1-0 win over Stetson in an Atlantic Sun Conference Graphite Division match Saturday night at the Athletic Training Center.

FGCU (6-6-3, 2-2-1) – which has won two straight and is 2-0-1 in its last three outings – had the better offensive chances early on, firing four shots (one on goal) in the first 30 minutes of the match, including a shot by
Pedro Arcoverde that hit the crossbar in the 19th minute. Stetson (4-8-1, 1-3-1) didn't register a shot until the 32:31 mark, when Benjamin Donato sent a shot left of the FGCU net.

The Eagles broke through early in the second half, taking a 1-0 lead at 50:51 on a goal by Demark on a shot in the lower right corner of the net. It was Demark's third goal of the season and now gives FGCU five different players with at least three goals in the 2025 campaign.
Stetson – which has now lost four straight matches – got its first shot on goal at 54:14, when Daniel Makowem sent a shot at the lower left corner of the FGCU goal, but Eagle keeper
Oliver Weng was there to make a save and keep it 1-0 FGCU. Weng made two more saves over the next three minutes of play as Stetson sought to tie the match, but the Eagles maintained their slim advantage.
Just past the 60-minute mark, FGCU almost doubled its lead, but
Salvador Martinez's shot hit the left post, and the Eagles had to settle for staying in front, 1-0. The FGCU defense then stood tall again in the 69th minute, when the Eagles cleared a shot off the goal line following a Stetson corner kick.
The Hatters continued to pressure the FGCU goal over the final 20 minutes in search of an equalizer, but the Eagles' backline and Weng kept Stetson at bay, giving FGCU its fourth clean sheet of the season and running the Eagles' shutout streak to 180:45 of match time.
Stetson outshot FGCU, 11-10, for the match, and the teams finished with four shots on goal apiece.
