FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving will open up the new year with the Eagles Triple Distance Invitational Saturday. The meet will feature three other women's teams and two men's teams.

On the women's side, FGCU, La Salle, Saint Peter's and Sienna will compete. On the men's side it will be La Salle and Saint Peter's.

The meet will feature two heats of women's swimming followed by one heat of men's swimming with all schools competing on the one and three meter boards. Scoring wil be dual meet scoring.

The Eagles last competed Dec. 19, 2024 at the Eagles Holiday Splash where they placed third, winning seven events. Izzy Ackley won her third Atlantic Sun Conference Swimmer of the Week award and Bailey Betzer took home her second ASUN Diver of the Week award.

FGCU returns to the pool Jan. 18 for the Green and Blue Intersquad. Admission to all swimming and diving events is free.
