FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics, in partnership with Suncoast Credit Union, proudly recognizes CJ Smith of Men's Tennis and Casey Santoro of Women's Basketball as the Suncoast Credit Union Scholar Athletes of the Month for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.

CJ Smith, an Exercise Science major with an impressive 3.87 GPA, has demonstrated excellence both in the classroom and on the court. Smith recently represented FGCU at the prestigious Bedford Cup in Gainesville, competing in both singles and doubles play.

Casey Santoro, a standout on the Women's Basketball team, is enrolled in FGCU's Graduate Teacher Immersion Program (TIP) and holds a remarkable 3.98 GPA. On the court, Santoro has been a key contributor in the early part of the season, appearing in seven games and averaging 3.1 points per game.

The Suncoast Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month program highlights FGCU student-athletes who excel academically while making significant contributions to their teams.
