Sebastian Gamboa and Brody Stevenson played into the top 25 Monday as Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf completed day one action of The Clerico in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while Christian Figueredo emerged as the sole leader at the Florida Atlantic Invitational.

"I'm really proud of our team. The conditions were very tough," head coach Andrew Danna said. "We are looking forward to another opportunity to compete tomorrow."

Gamboa opened the event with a two-over 73, making up 16 spots in the second round sparked by an eagle on hole No. 2. Gamboa went on to produce a team-low even round of 70 to finish the day tied for 12th. Earlier this fall, he posted a top-10 performance at the Bearcat Invitational in September, eyeing his second of the year for Tuesday's final round.

The next closest Eagle is Stevenson as he sneaked into the top 25 behind a one-over 71 effort. He soared up 22 positions late in the day after his opening-round 75.

As a team, FGCU (+26) is tied for eighth overall alongside New Mexico, shooting consistent rounds of 293. Tournament host Oral Roberts paces the 13-team field at three-over.

ORU's Presten Richardson also sits atop the player leaderboard at four-under. The field consists of three currently top-50 ranked teams, including individuals from No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 9 Oklahoma State.

Back in the sunshine state, Figueredo is the sole leader at the Florida Atlantic Invitational at six-under-par – playing as an individual in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Figueredo shot a career-low 66 in round two, sinking four birdies in a span of five holes.

Figueredo leads USF's Jake Peacock by one stroke heading into Tuesday's final round.
