FGCU drops meet against Miami and Colorado State

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving posted a staggering 16 season-best times and Libby Russum took first place in the 100 fly with a time of 54.44 as FGCU fell to Miami, 192-102, and Colorado State, 187-113.

"We did a great job of competing today against two competitive programs," Head Coach Dave Rollins said. "The challenge was to see how close we could be to our season best performances coming off some very challenging training and the ladies did a great job accomplishing that goal. We are excited for more racing opportunities this weekend and continuing to fine tune our strategies and peak at the ASUN Championships."

In the diving well, Isabeau Keene earned top scores on the 3-meter board, scoring 260.40, and placing third.

The breaststroke proved to be the stroke of genius for the Eagles as Jenna Gwinn finished second in the 100 breast (1:03.67) and Rebecca Winn finished third in the 200 breast (2:19.56).

Two relays competed on the day with Eagles relays performing well placing second in the 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Up next for Florida Gulf Coast University is two road meets against UNF and Georgia Southern on Friday and Saturday.
