FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University Swimming and Diving will open up the calendar year by welcoming Miami and Colorado State to the Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center on Monday at 2 p.m.
The meet opens up the calendar year for the Green & Blue after last competing at the Magnus Cup in Cleveland, Ohio. At the Magnus Cup,
Jasmin Kroll posted the second-best 50 and 100 free, third-best 200 free, and best 500 free so far this year in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Kroll currently holds a 2.59 second edge in conference in the 500 free.
The Eagles racked up top conference placings at the Magnus Cup with
Emma Bjoernholdt (500 free, fifth; 1650 free, third),
Lily Magda (1650 free, fifth),
Jenna Gwinn (100 breast, fourth),
Libby Russum (100 fly, fourth), and Cam Kuriger (200 fly, fourth) all posting top five times while all relays are top three in conference.
On the boards,
Isabeau Keene is continuing a series of strong performances with a score of 233.35 on the 1-meter and 251.40 on the 3-meter. Consistency with the key for Keene scoring high on her dives in Cleveland, including her most difficult dive, the Inward 2 1/2 Somersault Tuck (405C) on the 3-meter, a degree of difficulty of 2.7.
Following this meet, FGCU goes on the road for three meets before returning for a weekend of meets against North Florida Feb 2 and 3 before traveling to Knoxville, Tenn. for the ASUN Championships.
