Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf and head coach Andrew Danna signed three future Eagles to join the Nest during the National Signing Day period.
Nolan Harper, Brett Moore and Sacha Ruiz each put pen to paper to sign their national letter of intent with FGCU.
Nolan Harper | St. Auhustine, Fla.
Harper is from St. Augustine, Florida, and competes for Beachside High School. Harper participated in the 2022 and 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. He is ranked sixth in the Class of 2024 Rolex AJGA rankings for the state of Florida. Harper is also ranked 81st in the JGS National Rankings.
Harper placed third at the AJGA UNIQLO Adam Scott Junior Championship, seventh at the AJGA Atlantic Classic and seventh at the AJGA Championship Visit Tallahassee.
"Nolan is a very talented golfer and a great young man," Danna said. "We are excited to have Nolan join us next fall. Nolan has done an outstanding job throughout his junior golf career. He knows how to win as he has qualified to play in the last two U.S. Junior Amateur Championships. I'm excited for the future of our program with the addition of Nolan."
Brett Moore | Hollywood, Fla.
Moore is a Hollywood, Florida, native who attends Archbishop High School. In the state of Florida, Moore is ranked seventh in the Class of 2024 Rolex AJGA Rankings. He is also ranked 63rd in the JGS national rankings.
Moore competed in the 2023 U.S. Amateur Championship and won the AJGA Visit at Sebring Preview, firing a 66 in the final round. He placed second at the AJGA UNIQLO Adam Scott Junior Championship and third in the 74th Annual Press Thornton Future Masters.
"Brett is an outstanding golfer and great young man," Danna said. "We are really happy to have Brett join us next fall. Brett has excelled in his junior golf career. Brett knows how to win as he is coming off a great summer having qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship this past August. I'm excited for the future of our program with the addition of Brett."
Sacha Ruiz | France
The third and final signee is Ruiz from France. Ruiz is the 22nd naked amateur in the U18 European Golf Rankings. Overall, he is ranked 80th. Ruiz also holds a national ranking of No. 619 in the World Amateur Golf rankings.
Ruiz finished second at the Grand Prix du Vaudreuil, carding back-to-back rounds in the 60s. He placed fourth at the U18 French National Championship.
"Sacha is a very talented golfer. He has a great work ethic which has translated to consistent results. We are excited for Sacha to join our program next fall," Danna said.
