ESTERO, Fla. - Two duos
produced a pair of victories to reach double digit wins on the season as the FGCU beach volleyball team (11-9, 5-3 ASUN) split two matches against Jacksonville (5-0) and North Florida (2-3) at Estero Community Park on Friday.
"We executed well in the opener, and I was really pleased with Kellie's performance coming into the No. 5 pair for the first time this season," FGCU head coach
Matt Botsford said. "I thought UNF pressured us from the service line throughout. Our setting didn't allow us to be as aggressive as we would have liked, and we will have to make an adjustment heading into Saturday. Gio and Ashley along with Amanda and Mac were great all day, but we will need to be more consistent across all five pairs tomorrow."
The Eagles will conclude the regular season on Saturday against North Florida at 10 a.m. and Jacksonville at 2 p.m. Prior to the second match, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the program will host its senior day ceremony honoring
Mackenzie Allen and
Ashley Glickert.
