FORT MYERS, FL – It's an action-packed weekend for FGCU swimming and diving as a portion of the team will head to Miami for the TYR Classic hosted by FIU Friday afternoon and concluding Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad will remain at home and host the Panthers and UNF for a dual meet Saturday at 12 PM.
The matchup against the Ospreys will be the first of three conference meets set for this year at the FGCU Aquatics Complex.

Novak (Frederick, Md./Oakdale HS) was named the CCSA Diver of the Week Tuesday afternoon as she placed second on the 3-meter dive with a score of 290.77, qualifying her for the 2019 NCAA Zone Diving Championships for a second-straight season. The Maryland native also finished third on the 1-meter dive with a score of 258.75.
In addition,
Elmgreen (Charlottenlund, Denmark/Ordrup Gymnasium) is also coming off a stellar weekend against Florida where she turned in a pair of second-place finishes in both the 100 (56.52) and 200 fly (2:02.68). Her 200 time currently ranks seventh in the country while her 100 mark sits 18th in the nation.
All said the Eagles placed a swimmer and diver in the top-3 in each of the 16 events held against the Gators.
Halmai (Dombovar, Hungary/Lanczos Kornel Secondari Grammar School) recorded a trio of top-3 finishes, placing second overall in the 100 breast (1:05.03) – 18th fastest time in the country – and also in the 200 breast (2:19.51) – sixth fastest time in the nation. The Hungarian then went on to touch the pads in a time of 2:07.26 in the 200 (IM) for third place.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Overall, FIU is 0-1 after dropping its season-opener last weekend against Miami, 165-133. During that meet, Stephanie Hussey led the way for the Panthers claiming two events as she captured the 500 and 1000 freestyle events with times of 5:04.57 and 10:29.37 respectively.
On the boards, FIU had three divers hit NCAA marks with Maha Gouda qualifying for the 1 and 3-meter after scores of 288.30 and 306.23. Rachel Foorde and Brooke Bouchard qualified on the 1-meter hitting scores of 286.05 and 270.23, respectively.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
UNF is 1-1 overall to start the season going 1-0 in CCSA action after taking down Gardner-Webb last Saturday, 162-99. During the tri-meet, the Ospreys fell to FAU, 169-93. Camryn Greenleaf claimed the 50 free title (53.60) as UNF garnered a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 medley relays and also one team in the 400 free relays.

HEAD COACH DAVE ROLLINS
Entering into his third season, head coach, Dave Rollins is only the second head coach in program history, taking over on Sept. 1, 2016. In his second season, Rollins guided FGCU to back-to-back CCSA titles, as well as the program's fourth-straight and ninth championship in 10 years. In addition, he has been awarded CCSA Coach of the Year in each of his two seasons at the helm. Previously, Rollins was the associate head men's swimming coach at The Ohio State University. Rollins brings over a decade of coaching experience to The Nest, which includes Olympians, NCAA Champions and All-Americans along with multiple conference champions. A standout collegiate athlete in his own right, Rollins was inducted into the University of Arizona's Hall of Fame in 2017 as a nine-time NCAA All-American, national champion, school record holder and team captain.
