FORT MYERS, Fla. – For the second-consecutive season the FGCU baseball team (28-24-1, 11-9 A-Sun) will host the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament at its home field, Swanson Stadium. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (May 20) morning and the Eagles, who will be the No. 5 seed, will take the field for the first time at 7 p.m. opposite No. 2 Lipscomb (35-18, 13-8 A-Sun), the program that eliminated the Green and Blue from the 2014 Championship.

LAST MEETING
The Eagles hosted the Bisons at Swanson Stadium, May 1-3 this season and dropped all three games, going down by a combined score of 10-2. FGCU out-hit Lipscomb in the first game of the series 13-5 against A-Sun First Team selection and likely starter on Wednesday Ian Martinez-McGraw, but stranded a season-high 19 runners in the 5-1 loss. Cape Coral native and A-Sun Second Team choice Jeffrey Passantino tossed a gem in game two which resulted in a 1-0 victory for the Bisons and despite a stellar effort on the mound from Brady Anderson on Sunday, the Eagles were unable to overcome a four-run deficit and lost 4-1.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
The Bisons are led at the dish by freshman and A-Sun Second Team choice Michael Gigliotti who hit .352 in his debut campaign with 26 RBI and 17 stolen bases. Grant Massey, the A-Sun Defensive Player of the Year, hit .345 and drove in 43 runs while Jonathan Allison (A-Sun Second Team) hit .310 with a Lipscomb-best 51 runs batted in. On the mound the Bisons boast four A-Sun All-Conference selections. Martinez-McGraw tossed 86.2 innings and amassed a 2.39 ERA while freshman Jeffrey Passantino settled with a 2.21 ERA. Nick Andros earned a spot on the Second Team by making 12 relief appearances and collecting four saves while building a 5-1 record. Freshman Brady Puckett would be chosen to the All-Freshmen team after going 6-2 this season, including a shutout of No. 1 Vanderbilt, with a 4.82 ERA.

HEAD COACH MATCHUP
In 13 seasons of work, FGCU head coach Dave Tollett has compiled a 462-260-3 record as the only head coach in the program's history. He will match up with Jeff Forehan who is currently in his 9th season of work in Nashville. During that time, Forehand has compiled a record of 206-252.

ATLANTIC SUN AWARDS
With the 2015 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship on the horizon, the FGCU baseball program has had six individuals named to the A-Sun All-Conference awards list that was announced by league officials on Tuesday afternoon. Junior first baseman Nick Rivera highlights this list with a selection to the First Team while Brady Anderson, Jake Noll and Tyler Selesky earned Second Team honors. Freshman standouts, Matt Reardon and Zach Spivey have been chosen to the All-Freshmen Team.

1B | NICK RIVERA | FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
At the plate, Nick Rivera (Cape Coral, Fla./Bishop Verot HS) has had a career-season that sits near the top of the Atlantic Sun in nearly every offensive category and ranks near the top of FGCU program history. He has hit a career-best .360 with a league-leading 67 RBI, putting him in pursuit of the FGCU single-season RBI record of 74 set by Jason Louwsma in 2006. Rivera became the 11th player in program history to hit 10 home runs in a single season and has collected 18 doubles, which give him 39 for his career that rank ninth in program history, and a triple while scoring 32 runs and slugging .629. The junior has also walked 35 times to produce an on-base percentage of .461. Rivera would be named A-Sun Player of the Week on two separate occasions. He would also build a career-best hitting streak of 16 games earlier this year and accumulated a streak of 26 consecutive games reaching base

SP | BRADY ANDERSON | SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
Redshirt-junior Brady Anderson (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto HS) became an important cog on the roster for FGCU opting to play on both sides of the ball for the first time since early 2013 when he sustained an injury that forced him to miss his sophomore season. Anderson was an everyday player for the Eagles as a freshman and decided to only take the mound in 2014 after returning from injury. In 2015 Anderson would became the everyday designated hitter midway through the season while maintaining his role in the weekend rotation. On the mound he pitched to a 4-1 record and a 3.40 ERA with 50 strikeouts against just 14 walks. Opponents only hit .266 off the right-hander in 76.2 innings on the hill over 16 total appearances. At the plate the junior hit .310 in 100 at-bats with five RBI and 19 runs scored while sustaining a .367 on-base percentage.

2B | JAKE NOLL | SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
Jake Noll (Punta Gorda, Fla./Charlotte HS) made the transition from the leadoff role as a freshman to the clean-up spot as a sophomore and has continued his great success of a season-ago by producing a .352 batting average, on the strength of an FGCU-best 74 hits to go with six doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs, the first two of his career. Noll has also driven in a career-high 36 runs and scored 36 times as well while stealing 15 bags. His 40-career stolen bases now rank second in FGCU program history behind only Josh Upchurch who stole 61 bags from 2006-09. His .361 career batting average currently ranks ninth all-time and his 175 hits rank 10th.

3B | TYLER SELESKY | SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
Tyler Selesky (Estero, Fla./Estero HS) was a utility player during his first two seasons, receiving spot starts as need but found an everyday role for the Eagles this season at third base. He finished the 2015 regular season ranked third on the team with a .333 batting average, coming on especially strong in A-Sun play. He has a career-high 66 hits this season, 13 doubles and 37 RBI with an on-base percentage of .436. He is tied for second on the team with 33 walks and ranks third in the nation with 17 sacrifice bunts. The Estero native became the second FGCU player, alongside Nick Rivera to be named A-Sun Player of the Week and the fourth player on the roster to earn a weekly award this season.

SS | MATT REARDON | ALL-FRESHMEN TEAM
Matt Reardon (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) put an outstanding freshman campaign together as the primary shortstop for the Green and Blue. As the everyday leadoff man, Reardon hit .312 in his debut season as one of six Eagles to hit above .300. He would score 49 runs, which ranked second in the league while hitting .333 in conference play. Reardon drove in 23 runs out of the leadoff spot to go with 64 runs, nine doubles and a pair of long balls, both of which came on the road in A-Sun play. He would walk 31 times and steal four bags while posting .946 fielding percentage.

OF | ZACH SPIVEY | ALL-FRESHMEN TEAM
Zach Spivey (Ormond Beach, Fla./Spruce Creek HS)
emerged as an everyday outfielder out of necessity early in the season and more than justified his spot in the lineup with a .290 batting average over 48 starts. In 186 at bats he would collect 54 hits, eight doubles and a pair of home runs to go with 17 RBI. The freshman would also score 26 runs and steal six bases while reaching base at a .346 clip.

#DRAFTCITY
The Eagles would have a total of three players taken in the 2014 MLB draft, Junior outfielder Michael Suchy (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast HS), Junior third-baseman/pitcher Zack Tillery (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier HS) and Redshirt-Junior, left-handed reliever Ryan Atwood (Austin, Texas/Westwood HS/Navarro College). The Eagles have now produced 22 draft picks in their history with the most notable being 2014 AL Cy Young Award Finalist and three-time All-Star Chris Sale who was chosen in the first round, 13th overall by the Chicago White Sox in 2010. Suchy became the second-highest FGCU player ever taken when he went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round in last June's draft and is one of just seven players in FGCU history to be chosen in the top ten rounds. The Eagles would have a program record seven players selected during the 2013 draft. Freshman left-hander Devin Smeltzer is the lone FGCU player on the roster this season who has been drafted previously. He was selected in the 33rd round of the 2014 draft by the San Diego Padres but instead opted to attend FGCU.

DAVE TOLLETT
In 12+ seasons of work, FGCU head coach Dave Tollett has compiled a 462-260-3 record as the only head coach in the program's history. He is a four-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year and has guided the Green and Blue to four A-Sun Regular Season Championships. His team has been ranked nationally on several occasions by multiple media outlets and has coached 35 All-Conference selections, 22 draft picks, 16 current minor leaguers, four A-Sun Pitchers of the Year, three All-Americans, one National Freshman Player of the Year, one National Player of the Year and one MLB All-Star.
