@FGCU_WSoccer Welcomes Murray State for Sunday Afternoon Matinee

FORT MYERS, Fla.The FGCU women's soccer team (3-1-0) looks to build upon the program's best start since 2011 when it welcomes the Murray State Racers (1-3-0) to the FGCU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon to split a stretch of five road games.

LAST TIME OUT
FGCU traveled to FIU on Wednesday and rode another game-winning goal from Tabby Tindell to its third victory of the 2014 season by a score of 2-0, giving the program its best start since 2011 when the Green and Blue began 4-1. The Eagles now hold a 6-1-1 advantage in the all-time series against FIU and have won four-straight.

Tindell's goal was her fourth of the season and it was Paulina Speckmaier (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep/Florida) who added the extra insurance, her second score of the season, midway through the second half with Tindell adding an assist for the first time this year. Tindell has now provided the game-winning goal in each of the Eagles' three victories. Brittany Brown faced nine shots and needed to make just three saves in the game to pick up her first shutout of 2014.

HOT START
The four-time defending Atlantic Sun Conference Champions began the 2014 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Pac-12 foe Arizona before hitting the road and knocking off in-state rival Miami, 2-1. The Eagles then traveled to USF and fell 1-0 before rebounding with a defeat of FIU.

Tindell's four goals this season have given her 19 for her career and positioned her just five goals shy of the program record of 24 set by 2009 graduate Amber McCall. Shannen Wacker is one of just three Eagles to have 20+ goals in her career with 21. Her three assists this season have moved her into a tie for second all-time with 57 points, behind only 2010 graduate Lindsay Haw's 68 points.

MURRAY STATE
These two programs have met once before in 2007 and the Racers came away with a 3-2 victory. Murray State closed 2013 with a 6-10-1 mark and a 3-7 record in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Racers are 1-2 so far this season with a 2-3 loss to Arkansas State, a 2-1 defeat of Georgia State and a 1-5 loss at Dayton. Murray State dropped a 1-0 result at FIU on Friday night.
