FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer will play in the Sunshine State for the first time in 2026, but in Pensacola at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 at West Florida.

FGCU enters the final stretch of its season-opening five-game road trip at 2-2-0 after earning a pair of key wins in Virginia. The Eagles took down Liberty 3-2 despite ceding two goals after a red card. In Charlottesville, it was Virginia that was tagged with a pair of red cards throughout the contest. FGCU's goals came after the cards, with Aron Martinez scoring in the 26th minute and Michael Ndiweni delivering the game-winner in the 86th minute. 

Goalkeeper Eduard Garcia delivered his first career win in his first career start against Virginia for the program's first ACC win. He tallied three saves against UVA after entering with only 11 career Division I minutes played in 2024.

Martinez, Brooks Beeman and Emerson LaOrden are all tied for the team lead in goals with two apiece. The trio are also tied for third in the conference with their pair of goals through four games.

West Florida has opened its first Division I season at 0-3-1. The Argonauts played Georgia State to a scoreless draw in Atlanta their last time out; Tomas Valles Gilbert earned the shutout in goal. UWF has three goals from three different players – Jip Van Den Essen, Adrian Rodriguez and Tobias Gjesdahl.
