SHIZUOKA, Japan - Florida Gulf Coast's men's golf team sits sixth through two rounds of the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League Tournament at Grand Fields Country Club. The Eagles posted a 7-over total of 575 (283-292) across the first two days.

FGCU trails leader Nihon by 31 shots after the Japanese host extended its lead to 24-under through 36 holes. New Mexico climbed into second at 22-under, while Tohoku Fukushi rounds out the podium at 13-under. TCU slipped from second to fourth, and Seattle jumped ahead of the Eagles into fifth. Round three concludes the tournament Friday locally, Thursday stateside.

Alfie Storer turned in the low round for FGCU, carding a 1-under 70 to climb into a tie for 25th individually in the combined standings at 142 (E) for the tournament. He made three birdies against two bogeys on the front nine to turn in 1-under 35, then added two more birdies on the back before a double bogey on the par-3 14th evened things out for a second straight 35.

Christian Figueredo and Jay Wilson each shot 2-over 73 to tie for 30th, with Figueredo at 143 (+1) and Wilson at 143 (+1) for the tournament. Figueredo made the turn at even par after two birdies and a double bogey, then gave back two shots on the back nine with two birdies against four bogeys. Wilson also played his front nine to even par with two birdies and two bogeys before a back nine that included a birdie on the par-3 14th offset by three bogeys.

Brody Stevenson is tied for 49th at 147 (+5) for the tournament after a 5-over 76. He played a bogey-free, par front nine before a triple bogey on the par-4 12th and three more bogeys on the back nine offset a lone birdie.

Trevor Tingle also shot 76 (+5) and sits tied for 91st at 155 (+13) for the tournament. He made the turn at 3-over after a bogey and a double bogey, then added two more bogeys on the back nine.
