FORT MYERS, Fla. – D1Softball announced Wednesday that Florida Gulf Coast softball earned the No. 40 transfer portal class ranking in the nation.

Head coach Lindsay Fico's Eagles were also ranked as the No. 12 mid-major transfer portal class. FGCU added 10 players in the portal, including a Power Four transfer from Iowa in outfielder Logan Currie. The Eagles totaled four pitchers, two catchers, three outfielders and an infielder to join the 2026 returners and six incoming freshmen.

"We're incredibly excited about this incoming class and what they represent for the future of FGCU Softball," head coach Lindsay Fico said. "We were very intentional about bringing in student-athletes who can make an immediate impact, but just as importantly, people who believe in what we're building and are willing to work for something bigger than themselves.

"Our freshmen bring a ton of energy, talent and upside, while our transfers bring experience, toughness and a level of competitiveness that will challenge everyone in our program.

"We believe this group gives us more depth, more versatility and, most importantly, the right people to continue raising the standard of FGCU Softball. We can't wait to get them in the Green and Blue and see what this group can accomplish together."

Logan Currie | 5'5 | So. | OF | R/R | North Forsyth HS | Iowa | Cumming, Ga.
Currie comes to FGCU from Iowa, where she appeared in 24 games as a true freshman, primarily as a pinch runner. She scored ten runs for the Hawkeyes, including one each in her debut against Samford (Feb. 6), against Florida State (Feb. 6), and in a pair of Big 10 contests against Ohio State (March 6) and in a 4-2 win over Indiana (April 19). While in Iowa City, Currie was on the Dean's List both semesters.

Stephanie Basso | 5'4 | Jr. | C | R/R | Coral Springs Charter | FSW | Coastal Carolina | Coral Springs, Fla.
Basso comes to FGCU from FSW, where she was a First Team All-Citrus Conference and Second Team All-FCSAA pick in 2026. The catcher hit .391 with a team high 13 home runs and 59 RBIs on the year. She had a few red hot stretches, the first when she clubbed five home runs in seven games to close out the month of February. 

Brooke Pisciotta | 5'7 | So. | C | L/R | Perry HS | UNLV | Utah Tech | Gilbert, Ariz.
Pisciotta comes to FGCU from UNLV. She played in 26 games with 13 starts over two years for the Rebels; hitting .276 with seven RBIs and six runs scored. She spent her freshman season at Utah Tech, where she had a pair of hits in five games played. Academically, she has earned Dean's List selections since 2023. 

Emma Eekhoff | 6'0 | So. | P | R/R | Pella HS | Indian River State College | Pella, Iowa
Eekhoff comes to FGCU from Indian River State College. While at IRSC, she compiled a 19-6 record with a 1.38 ERA and 210 strikeouts. She was tabbed as the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week twice to go with a NJCAA D1 Pitcher of the Week award. Eekhoff was selected to the All Citrus Conference Team and to the All-Tournament Team. Academically, she was on the Dean's and President's List, and was in the top 10% of student-athletes.

Kennedy McQuillan | 5'7 | Jr. | OF | R/R | Lake Nona HS | North Florida | Orlando, Fla.
McQuillan comes to FGCU from North Florida, where she spent two years. As a sophomore, she slashed .280/.366/.463 with eight doubles, two triples and a home run. She started 25 of her 40 games played in 2026, primarily at DP. She hit her first career home run against Montana (Feb. 22) and tallied triples in back-to-back games against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 26). McQuillan recorded a pair of multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 day with a pair of doubles at Queens (April 3). Two weeks later, she delivered her signature moment of the season with a come from behind, extra innings, walk-off two-run double to beat the Royals at home (April 19).

Kennedy Borud | 5'7 | So. | INF | R/R | Southeast Polk HS | Iowa Western CC | Pleasant Hill, Iowa
Borud comes to FGCU from Iowa Western CC, where she hit .454 with 24 home runs and 90 RBIs in 2025. After her stellar season, she was named the IACCAC Offensive Player of the Year, to the IACCAC All-Region First Team, and a NJCAA Second Team All-American. She was also selected to the President's Honor Roll.

Makayla Jakubuwski | 5'10 | Jr. | OF | L/R | Evangelical Christian HS | FSW | Fort Myers, Fla.
Jakubuwski slashed .349/.401/.411 over two years at FSW, and reached base at a .423 clip with just five strikeouts in 2026. She recorded 42 RBIs on 45 hits, and scored 23 runs. She tallied four multi-hit games as a sophomore, including a 13-game on-base streak that spanned from mid-April to May. The Fort Myers native helped FSW to a 57-7 record and NJCAA World Series semifinal appearance.

Mikie Lieving | 5'9 | Sr. | P/UTL | L/R | Wahama HS | Ohio | West Columbia, W. Va.
Lieving brings a career 3.53 ERA and 126 strikeouts over 238.0 innings pitched to Fort Myers. She emerged as a two-way player for the Bobcats in 2026, starting 25 games at DP and slashing .245/.351/.469 with three home runs and 13 runs scored. Her best season in the circle came in 2024, when she recorded a 2.76 ERA over 124.1 innings with a 71-38 strikeout-to-walk ratio. That campaign registered a selection to the All-MAC Freshman Team and the Second-Team All-MAC. She earned back-to-back Academic All-MAC awards in 2025 and 2026.

Julia Moore | 5'7 | So. | P | R/R | Sequoyah HS | Young Harris College | Canton, Ga.
Moore spent one year at Division II Young Harris College, where she delivered a sparkling 1.34 ERA and 15-5 record. She logged 135.2 innings, striking out 123. Moore limited opponents to just a .208 average and registered a 0.98 WHIP. The Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and D2CCA First Team All-Southeast Region selection, she swept the conference Freshman of the Month honors. Moore was tabbed twice as the Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week, and received CSC Academic All-District honors. She rounded out her freshman year accolades academically on the school's President's List.

Allie Braly | 6'0 | Sr. | P | R/R | Raytown Senior HS | James Madison | St. Francis (PA) | Kansas City, Mo.
Braly spent 2026 at James Madison after playing the 2024-25 seasons at St. Francis. While in Harrisonburg, she dealt 3.1 scoreless, hitless innings to lead the Dukes to a 9-7 win over No. 23 Virginia to highlight her season. She was named to the Dean's List in the fall of 2025 at JMU. At St. Francis, she was a First Team All-NEC and NEC All-Tournament Team selection in 2025. She spun a shutout against LIU on May 11 to clinch the NEC Championship, and started both games in the 2025 NCAA College Station Regional. The right-handed pitcher threw her first career no-hitter against Le Moyne on March 23 with seven strikeouts.

A three time NEC Prime Performer in 2025 (February 25, March 25, April 22), Braly's 3.06 ERA ranked third in the conference. She started 27 of her 29 appearances, and led the Red Flash in opposing batting average (.263), wins (15), innings pitched (148.2) and strikeouts (70). Her 148.2 innings and 15 wins also led the NEC. As a freshman, she had a 2.06 ERA across 17 innings with 15 strikeouts and three saves for a St. Francis team that secured the No. 3 seed in the 2024 NCAA Austin Regional.

Additionally, Fico brings in six freshmen to go with the 10 transfers and round out the newcomer class.

Alexis Evans | 5'6 | OF | R/R | Archer HS | Athletics Gold Tamborra | Loganville, Ga.
Evans comes to FGCU from Archer HS in Loganville, Ga. An outfielder, Evans owns a career .450 average and .476 OBP in high school for head coach Emily Wilson. In her most recent season, she hit .567 with a .647 OBP, nine home runs, and steals bases at a 95.85% clip. She earned three consecutive all-region nods from 2023-2025, and was named First Team All-State in 2024-25. Evans played club for coach Stacy Tamborra at Athletics Gold Tamborra.

Jessie Crye | 5'7 | RHP | Avon Central School | Impact Caymol | Avon, N.Y.
Crye joins FGCU from Avon Central School in Avon, N.Y. The 2025 Avon HS Female Athlete of the year, she boasts a career ERA of 0.78 with 923 strikeouts over 431 innings pitched. As a junior, she posted a 0.65 ERA and 263 Ks across 128.1 innings. She was named the 2024 NYS Section V Class C1 Player of the Year, and 2025 NYS Section V Class B2 Player of the Year. A LCAA All-Star for softball, volleyball and swimming, she made All-State teams for softball and volleyball, and the All-Greater Rochester All-Star Team for softball and volleyball.

Riley Huckaby | 5'3 | LHP | Harris County HS | Athletics Gold Freeman/Tamborra | Catula, Ga.
Huckaby comes to FGCU from Harris County HS in Catula, Ga. She won a 2024 state championship with head coach Brandon Jenkins, and plays club for Mekhia Freeman at Athletics Gold Freeman/Tamborra. She has collected numerous individual accolades, including four First Team All Region nods, two pitcher of the year awards, the GHSA Player of the Year, the GA Dugout Club Player of the Year, and the GA Dugout Club junior and senior all star. She boasts an 0.834 ERA, a .148 BAA and has a 123-10 strikeout to walk ratio. Huckaby was named to the Principal's List and has earned the Georgia Certificate of Merit.

Riley Johnson | 5'6 | INF | R/R | Bishop Moore Catholic | Tampa Mustangs Fowler | Deltona, Fla.
Johnson joins FGCU from Bishop Moore Catholic School in Deltona, Fla. In her 2025 fall travel season, she hit .324 with a .361 OBP and nine RBI. She broke her high school single season home run record for head coach Mike Gale with eight, and was named All-Area as a junior and second team as a sophomore. She played club for coach Kyle Fowler at Tampa Mustangs Fowler.

Taya Newton | 5'6 | INF | R/R | Andalusia HS | SoCal Athletics | Andalusia, Ala. 
Newton comes to FGCU from Andalusia HS in Andalusia, Ala. She played club for Joel Kennedy at SoCal Athletics, and was named to the AHSAA all-state team. A member of the National Honor Society, Newton was a captain at Andalusia for head coach Ray Bozeman.

Payton Roberson | 5'4 | INF/UTL | L/R | East Coweta HS | EC Bullets Premier Holcombe | Senoia, Ga.
Roberson joins FGCU from East Coweta HS in Senoia, Ga. She has a .515 career batting average, 20 home runs, 195 hits for head coach Franklin Deloach. In her most recent season, she slashed .505/.546/.893 for an 1.439 OPS with 16 doubles, three triples, six homers and 43 RBI. A First Team All-State and First Team All-Region honoree, she broke the school single season batting average record with .602, the school single season OBP record with .618, and the school single season doubles record with 21. She plays club for coach Kerry Holcombe at EC Bullets Premier.
