FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf head coach Lee McCoy has announced the roster for the 2026-27 season, as the reigning ASUN Champion Eagles look to defend their title. The group blends a pair of returners with a trio of experienced transfers and a talented freshman class, marking McCoy's first roster at the helm.

"This year's roster is very much a fresh start for us," said McCoy. "With only a couple of returning players, it will be a great opportunity for some young guys and transfers to gain valuable experience. I'm confident that we have a very hungry and competitive group this year, and I can't wait to watch them compete."

Christian Figueredo, a senior, earned ASUN Golfer of the Week honors last season and helped lead the Eagles to their first ever ASUN Championship. He competed in 12 tournaments and 35 rounds with a 72.8 scoring average, highlighted by a tie for 10th at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island, where a second-round 66 featured an eagle and seven birdies. He also posted a tie for 37th at the Ka'anapali Classic and a tie for 26th at the West Bay Collegiate, and closed out the year ranked No. 719 nationally.

Brody Stevenson, also a senior, returns after competing in five tournaments and 15 rounds with a 73.8 scoring average a year ago. His best finish came at the West Bay Collegiate, where he tied for 15th at 6-under, and he recorded back-to-back eagles on the same hole in the first two rounds of the Ka'anapali Classic.

Mason Fundingsland joins the Eagles as a senior after three seasons at Augusta University, where he earned a spot on the President's List. In 2025-26, he played four events with a 73.9 stroke average, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Southern Invitational Stroke Play and a 31st-place showing at the Thomas Sharkey Invitational. A Milton High School product, he helped lead his team to a 7A Georgia state title.

Charlie Preston, a junior, arrives at FGCU from Indian Hills Community College, where he earned First Team All-American NJCAA honors in 2025-26, highlighted by a win at the NJCAA DI Plains District Championship and a 23rd-place finish at the NJCAA DI Men's National Championship. This summer, he finished third at the Hampshire County Championship and 17th at the English Men's Amateur Championship.

Alfie Storer joins the Eagles for his fifth year after four seasons at Wingate University. In 2025-26, he played 30 rounds across 10 tournaments with a 72.0 stroke average, highlighted by a win at the Patriot Fall Classic and a sixth-place finish at the Currahee Collegiate Invite. He also helped Wingate reach the national semifinals as a junior and earned All-American Scholar honors during his career.

FGCU's freshman class includes Trevor Tingle and Jay Wilson. Tingle, a Miami Palmetto Senior High School product, won the Florida Junior Tour MLK Major and posted top-25 finishes on both the Florida Junior Tour and AJGA circuit as a senior. Wilson, an Elba High School standout, won an AHSAA Golf Team State Championship and three individual AHSAA Solo State Championships while tying for the third-lowest scoring average in AHSAA history.

The Eagles open the 2026-27 season at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament in Shizuoka, Japan, running Sept. 2-4, before returning stateside to continue their pursuit of a second straight ASUN Championship.
