FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast softball head coach Lindsay Fico announced Logan Currie as the second signee out of the 2026 transfer portal on Monday.

"Logan is exactly the type of person and player we want in our program," Fico said. "Her work ethic and passion for the game stood out during the recruiting process. We're excited to see the impact she'll make both on and off the field."

Currie comes to FGCU from Iowa, where she appeared in 24 games as a true freshman, primarily as a pinch runner. She scored ten runs for the Hawkeyes, including one each in her debut against Samford (Feb. 6), against Florida State (Feb. 6), and in a pair of Big 10 contests against Ohio State (March 6) and in a 4-2 win over Indiana (April 19). While in Iowa City, Currie was on the Dean's List both semesters.

In high school, Currie starred at North Forsyth HS for head coach Jim Cahill. The 2024-25 WSB-TV Georgia Female Athlete of the Year, she garnered a PGF All-American selection to go with four First Team All-Region and All-County selections. In her senior year, she hit .447 with a .518 on-base percentage despite missing half of the season. For her career, she hit .443 with a .480 on-base percentage, 171 hits, 84 RBIs, 262 total bases and 41 stolen bases. She was ranked the No. 2 outfielder in the southeast and No. 6 outfielder in the country by Extra Innings in 2024. In 2023, she was tabbed First Team All-State after a 2022 Second Team All-State nod. 

She also earned a 2022 GACA Junior All-Star Game invitation and the 2022 North Forsyth Softball "Golden Glove" Award. As a freshman, Currie collected a trio of honors: 2021 Region 6-7A Offensive Player of the Year, 2021 North Forsyth Female Freshman Athlete of the Year and 2021 North Forsyth Softball "Rookie of the Year" Award. Currie graduated with North Forsyth's records for career hits (173) and hitting streak (36 games).

Academically, she earned the AP Capstone Diploma, was designated an AP Scholar with Honor, and was a member of the National Honor Society. Currie played club for John Legere with Athletics Gold Tamborra.

The daughter of Tyson and Melissa Currie, Logan has one sibling, Peyton. Her mother, Melissa, played college softball at West Georgia, while her father, Tyson, played tennis for the Wolves. Her grandfather played baseball at West Georgia and her great-grandfather, Manuel Cordero helmed the family diamond sports tradition, playing baseball for the Washington Senators' system from 1949-1952. Currie will major in health science at FGCU and aspires to be a cardiac sonographer.
