FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast softball head coach
Lindsay Fico announced Stephanie Basso as the first signee out of the 2026 transfer portal on Monday.
"We're so excited to welcome Steph Basso to the FGCU softball family," Fico said. "Steph is a big-time catcher who brings experience, toughness, leadership, and a real love for the game. She's competed at a high level and knows what it takes to win. Just as important, she's the kind of teammate who makes everyone around her better. We can't wait to see the impact she'll have on our program."

She later notched her first career mulit-homer game in an FCSAA Tournament game win over Seminole State. The Coral Springs, Florida, native also came up clutch for FSW at the NJCAA World Series. She recorded a pair of three RBI games, finishing the tournament with seven RBIs in FSW's five game run to a third place finish in Oxford.
Basso spent her freshman season at Coastal Carolina. She played in 11 games with the Chanticleers, recording her first Division I hit and RBI in her collegiate debut against North Carolina.
