FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast women's soccer head coach
Jim Blankenship announced the additions of Brooke Viccars and Ambar Apostolico on Friday ahead of the 2026 campaign.

"We are very excited Brooke is joining our family," Blankenship said. "She is an exceptional student, teammate and player and will be a great addition to our program. She fits the same profile of attacking players that have historically had immense success in our program and we cannot wait to see her scoring goals on Pickering Field this fall."
Viccars comes to FGCU from UTSA, which won the American conference championship en route to a NCAA Tournament appearance in 2025. She played in 20 matches for the Roadrunners as a redshirt freshman, tallying 321 minutes and four shots on goal. A Dean's List honoree in 2024 and 2025, she was also tabbed to the 2024-25 American Conference All-Academic Team in July 2025.
In high school, she was ranked No. 34 in the First Touch Football All-Canadian 2024 player rankings. A 2022 National Recognition for Athletic Excellence recipient, she led McMath Secondary in scoring in 2023 and 2024, and led her squad in assists in 2022, 2023 and 2024. A two-time Provincial Player of the Week in 2024, she was a Provincial Champion in 2019, 2022 and 2024. Viccars was a Principal's Honour Roll member every year of school.
She played club for John Ribiero and Jason Jordan at Fusion Football Club. The side's top assister in 2022, 2023 and 2024, Viccars helped Fusion to the prestigious San Diego Surf Cup Championship in 2022.
The daughter of Rob and Deb Viccars, Brooke has one brother, Austin. Her uncle, Bob Viccars, had a seven-year career in the CFL at tight end for the Calgary Stampeders.

"Ambar is a fantastic addition to our team and goalkeeper group," Blankenship said. "She brings vast international experience growing up with the Argentina Youth National Teams, and will bring a competitiveness and professionalism that will immediately elevate our training environment."
Apostolico comes to FGCU from FIU. She spent two years with the Panthers, and redshirted in 2024 for the Conference USA champions. Apostolico earned a Dean's List honor at FIU and the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
A Buenos Aires, Argentina, native, Apostolico has earned a call-up to the Argentina Youth National Team, giving the Eagles a pair of goalkeepers with international experience alongside
Madara Matrevica. She played club for Cristian Meloni at Club Atlético Boca Juniors.
The daughter of Noelia Santarsiere and Alejandro Apostolico, Ambar has two siblings, Hermes and Lorenzo.
