FORT MYERS, Fla. – The weather in Southwest Florida has turned hot and so have the Eagles. Winners of seven straight games, FGCU will close out its 2026 home schedule Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. when the Eagles host FAU.
Florida Gulf Coast (33-17, 16-10 Atlantic Sun) is hoping to keep that hot streak going before playing at Jacksonville (27-23, 14-13) in a three-game series beginning Thursday. The Eagles' magic number to secure a bye in the ASUN Tournament is one. Meanwhile, North Florida (28-22, 19-8 ASUN) also has a magic number of one to secure the divisional crown.
Florida Atlantic (27-26, 12-12 American) is in a tight conference race of its own. The Owls are tied with Memphis for fifth place. However, the FAU (and Memphis) are just one game behind UAB and Rice for third in the league.
The Eagles have faced both teams in three games this season. Against FAU, the Green & Blue won both games in Boca Raton but dropped the most recent meeting in Fort Myers on April 28.
FGCU only won one of three over Jacksonville when the Dolphins visited Fort Myers, and looks to flip the script this weekend. Even though the team's magic number is one,
Dave Tollett and his crew want to head into the postseason on that hot streak.
Even though Senior Day was on Sunday, Tuesday's contest will be the last time at least six Eagles players step on the field at Swanson Stadium.
