Eagles ready for FAU Capri Classic

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast beach volleyball (15-10) returns to action at the FAU Capri Classic, beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10 against Jacksonville.

The Eagles will also face off with Stephen F. Austin, No. 15 FAU and No. 17 North Florida over the course of the weekend.

FGCU will meet the Dolphins for the third and final time in the regular season in 2026. The Eagles swept Jacksonville 5-0 on the road in the JU Season Opener on February 20, and won again 4-1 at the Urban Buzz Eagle Invitational on March 21. Since the Eagle Invitational, the Dolphins have gone 4-4, including a sweep of their home tournament and a pair of ranked losses to Florida State and Loyola Marymount.

Stephen F. Austin is the lone team on the weekend slate that FGCU will play for the first time in 2026. The Lumberjacks are 5-15 and have played common opponents with FGCU in Houston Christian, Southern Miss, UAB, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston. SFA notched a 3-2 win over the Bearkats at home on April 3.

The Eagles and No. 15 Owls will rematch after FAU defeated FGCU 4-1 on February 28 in Tallahassee. The pair of Alexis Keeter and Ava Lilliquist took a 21-13, 21-13 win at the No. 1 flight for FGCU in the first meeting. FAU is now 13-11 after four ranked losses to UCLA, Stanford, USC and Long Beach at the Texas Invitational last weekend.

North Florida and FGCU are set to play again after the Ospreys took a 3-2 win during the opening weekend of the season. Andrea Dietz and Sydney Majick, along with Elaina Millaway and Emma Soncrant, tallied pair wins for FGCU over North Florida in the first meeting. UNF enters at 12-12 and had an identical slate to FAU at the Texas Invitational.
