FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast (5-8) edged Mercer (3-6) with a 4-3 victory on Wednesday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. This triumph marks the Eagles' sixth straight win over Mercer, further solidifying FGCU's lead in the all-time series now at 8-4. Florida Gulf Coast secured the win by capturing all four singles matches from the No. 3 through No. 6 positions.
Mercer secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Nemanja Stefanovic defeated
Jonathan Baron and
Tanner Povey 6-4 on court one, while Amen Prince Gandonou and Shingo Masuda clinched with a 6-4 win over
Mika Bunjes and
Gustav Hasslegren at No. 2 doubles. The match at No. 3 doubles, featuring
Stefan Correa and
Stavros Hadjivarnava against Alex Aldaz and Esteb Davila Gasser, was left unfinished at 5-4, 1-0.

The match tightened with the Green & Blue's Bunjes falling to Alex Aldaz in a close contest at No. 3 singles, 6-7(7), 7-6(4), 0-6.
Despite the Bears' strong start, the Eagles emerged victorious with a 4-2 singles advantage, overturning the early deficit to seal the dual match win.
