FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's basketball senior
Michael Duax was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team on Tuesday.
Duax has a perfect 4.0 GPA as a biology major, and plans to attend medical school following graduation. On the court, he averaged 7.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game on 55% shooting from the field. He scored in double-digit ten times in 2025-26 and was 11th in the ASUN in steals per game. Duax's best career game came against Oral Roberts, when he scored 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the field and grabbed five rebounds, leading FGCU to a 93-88 home win. He is one of 12 ASUN men's basketball players selected to the Academic All-District teams.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards.
