FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast beach volleyball (13-8) enjoyed a 4-0 weekend at the Urban Buzz Eagle Invitational, sweeping Palm Beach State College 5-0 and beating Jacksonville 4-1.

"After four weeks on the road against some of the top teams in the country, it felt great to be back home and go undefeated in front of our very energetic fans," head coach Chris Sweat said. "The weather was absolutely perfect, and the atmosphere was exactly what you would want to celebrate our seniors today. We loved getting to see them go out on a win and we are looking forward to a tough week of practice and our first off weekend next weekend."

The Eagles soared to a 5-0 win over Palm Beach State after honoring their three seniors – Nicole De Oliveira, Kaitlyn Beck and Kristina Gluc. Beck and Gluc combined for FGCU's first win on court 4, winning 21-13, 21-14 over Georgie Vanloo and Liepa Kucinskaite. Emma Soncrant and Vanessa Moriarty won 21-11, 21-10 on court 5 to put FGCU up 2-0. The 1, 2 and 3 pairs each won their first set 21-10 en route to the victory. De Oliveira won her senior day match 21-10, 21-7 with Erin Miller; Andrea Dietz and Sydney Majick won 21-10, 21-13. Alexis Keeter and Ava Lilliquist capped off the 5-0 sweep with a 21-10, 21-14 win.

FGCU took a 4-1 win over the Dolphins in the finale of the Urban Buzz Eagle Invitational. Soncrant and Moriarty kicked off the match with a 21-18, 21-17 win. Dietz and Majick cruised to a 21-14, 21-9 win before De Oliveira and Miller clinched the FGCU win with a 21-14, 21-15 victory. Lilliquist and Keeter made it a 4-1 win on court 1 with a 21-17, 21-19 triumph.

Next, FGCU has a weekend off before traveling to Arizona for the Wildcat Spring Challenge on April 3-4.
