Full Series History
Saturday's match marks the third time in the four-match series history that FGCU will face a ranked Gators team. This will mark just the second time the programs have met during the regular season, as two of those prior meetings (2017 and 2019) came in NCAA Tournament play. Last year's 4-1 Florida win in Gainesville marked the first regular season meeting between the two programs.
Florida enters the weekend with wins over two ranked teams under its belt so far this season – No. 23 Kentucky and No. 13 Columbia – but is on the rebound after dropping decisions to unranked Florida State (4-3) and UCF (4-2) programs last weekend
Among the Gators ranked in singles are Pablo Perez Ramos at No. 32, Jeremy Jin at No. 43, Henry Jefferson at No. 50 and Adhithya Ganesan at No. 54. For doubles, the pairing of Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn ranked at No. 10.
The road-weary Eagles continue a stretch of 12 matches away from home to start the dual season with Saturday's contest crossing the halfway point of that calendar. After Saturday's match in Gainesville, FGCU will return to action on Feb. 20 at Florida Atlantic.
