How It Happened
Leonie Wulfers delivered a standout performance for the Eagles, capturing the individual championship at 3-under (213) for her first collegiate victory. Wulfers' win marked FGCU's first individual tournament title since teammate Lousiane Gauthier claimed the 2025 ASUN individual championship. The senior led the field with 15 birdies, tied for the ninth-fewest bogeys, and finished tied for the fewest double-plus bogeys across the tournament.

Amelie Alcantara continued her strong play with a tie for third place, giving FGCU two golfers inside the top five. Sydney Deal finished tied for 20th, while Anne Yost rounded out the Eagles' scoring group with a tie for 34th.

Wulfers closed the tournament with a final-round 73 (+1), navigating a steady back nine after mixing birdies and bogeys early to maintain her lead. Alcantara posted a final-round 71 (-1), one of the team's best scores of the day, highlighted by timely birdies that helped her climb into a tie for third. Deal carded a 77 (+5) in the final round, collecting key pars down the stretch to secure her top-20 finish, while Yost recorded an 80 (+8) to finish the week, highlighted by multiple pars that contributed to FGCU's team total.

As a team, the Eagles showed consistency throughout the lineup, finishing with the third-most birdies in the field (30) and the fourth-most pars (159). FGCU also led the tournament with the fewest bogeys and tied for the fewest double-plus bogeys, reinforcing a steady approach that kept the Eagles firmly in contention through all three rounds.

Individually, Alcantara tied for the ninth-most pars in the field with 36, while Yost tied for 12th with 35 and Deal tied for 16th with 34. Wulfers' scorecard, which paired strong scoring opportunities with long stretches of clean golf, ultimately separated her from the field and secured the title.

Coach's Corner
