FORT MYERS, Fla. – A pair of the nation's best mid-major collegiate baseball programs will face each other on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this week when FGCU plays host to Indiana State.
Tickets are on sale for the games on
Tuesday and
Wednesday, both of which begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Sycamores (3-4) are continuing their Florida vacation just days after spending the weekend playing in Port Charlotte. Indiana State may have four losses on their record, but three of those are to top-25 teams.
For FGCU (7-0), on the line is an unblemished record and an opportunity to extend the program's third-longest winning streak.
Jon Embury and
Evan Dempsey were both named ASUN Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively and are among the national leaders in several categories.
Indiana State is led by Jeremy Martinez's .389 average while Caden Miller has a .304 clip and seven RBIs to his credit.
The Eagles are projected to start RHP
Preston Rogers (0-0, 1.59 ERA) on the bump while Indiana State will trot out Owen Roberts (0-0, 4.50 ERA).
