FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU cross country will kick off its spring schedule Saturday as the Eagles head to Tampa for the Spartans Open at Pepin Stadium.
Ozia Trujillo Mokgothu will make her first appearance for the Eagles since her historic appearance at the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championships in the fall, the first Eagle to advance to the NCAA postseason. She will look to improve upon her school record in the 3,000m at 7:30 p.m. and will be competing alongside three other Eagles, including
Addison Torres, who ranks 11
th in school history in that distance.
On the men's side,
Dylan Torres leads a large convocation of Eagles in the 3K. Beginning at 8 p.m., Torres looks to improve upon his ranking of seventh in school history in the event.
Later in the evening,
Alise Petrova will run the 5K at 9:15 p.m. while
Innocent Ntwali and
Evan Casterline round out the action in the men's 5K at 10 p.m.
