The Eagles (4-0) have matched their second-best start in school history and could tie their best start with a win on Friday to go 5-0. Fans of the Green & Blue won't have to look far for entertainment as FGCU has won three of its four game this season on walk-offs.
Stonehill College (0-4) is continuing its tour of the Gulf Coast following a four-game series at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend. While the Skyhawks may be searching for their first win of the year, they have already shown they can make defensive plays having turned three double plays in four games.
Projected Starters
Friday: RHP
Evan Dempsey (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Ryan Douglass (0-1, 9.00 ERA)
Saturday: RHP
Chris Diaz (0-0, 23.15 ERA) vs. RHP Jimmy Gilleran (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Sunday: LHP
Hunter Possehl (0-0, 1.93 ERA) vs. RHP Noah Durham (0-1, 3.86 ERA)
The two teams have met once prior, but you'll have to really dig deep in the memory banks to recall when. The only prior meeting came in FGCU's inaugural season and the Eagles hammered out an
11-8 win over Stonehill at Terry Park in Fort Myers.
Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH), a proud sponsor of FGCU Athletics, delivers personalized care to 40,000-plus patients yearly with two hospitals, five ERs and 1000+ physicians in Southwest Florida. That's good news for Eagles fans as this year's installment of FGCU baseball will have your Apple Watch notifying you of an increased heart rate. Already through just four games this season, the Green & Blue have three walk-off wins as FGCU trailed in the seventh inning or later in all three games against North Dakota State. For anyone complaining, Maximus Decimus Meridius has a question for you.
