JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Aron Martinez was selected to the First Team All-ASUN after leading the league in goals in the regular season, the conference announced Wednesday.
Flavio D'Angelo and
Emerson LaOrden earned ASUN All-Freshman team nods after the duo scored three goals each in their first season of collegiate soccer. The Eagles had five players selected to the Academic All-ASUN team – fifth year
Brian Lopez and juniors
Jose Escobar,
Brooks Beeman,
Lucas Barsoe and
Lucas Sperner.
A TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 selection at No. 61, Martinez tallied nine goals in 2026, tying O'Vonte Mullings for the third most in a single season by an FGCU player. His nine goals and 21 points led the ASUN and ranked 33rd and 36th nationally, respectively. He also led the conference in shots on goal (21) and finished second in total shots (39). The lone Eagle to start all 16 contests, Martinez totaled 1,206 minutes as a forward.
Five of Martinez's scores came in conference play, including a brace against Stetson, the game-winner against Lipscomb and tallies against Bellarmine and North Florida. He helped FGCU take down Virginia with a goal on the road, and also found the back of the net in nonconference play against FIU, Georgia Southern and Incarnate Word. His three assists came against Queens, Liberty and Incarnate Word.
D'Angelo had three goals and two assists in his debut campaign. He scored against Queens, Liberty and Houston Christian, and recorded assists against North Florida and Incarnate Word. LaOrden matched his fellow freshman's goal scoring output with three of his own, coming against Liberty, College of Charleston and Houston Christian.
