MIAMI, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast's men's golf team sits seventh after two rounds of The Bryson Invitational at Trump National Doral's Blue Monster. The Eagles posted a 293 on Monday and a 294 in Tuesday's second round for a total of 11-over 587.
 
FGCU trails leader Charleston by 22 shots and sits one stroke back of sixth-place Grand Canyon, with Troy one shot behind the Eagles in eighth. The final round is Wednesday, Oct. 14, with Brody Stevenson teeing off first for the Eagles at 7:40 a.m. ET.
 
Christian Figueredo is tied for second at 4-under 140, four shots behind individual leader Jules Lauer of Charleston. After sharing the first-round lead with a 68, Figueredo followed with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. He made birdies at Nos. 2, 5 and 8 on the front nine, then played the back nine in 1-under 35 with birdies at 10 and 18. Figueredo made five birdies in the round.
 
Jay Wilson is tied for 21st at 2-over 146 after a second straight 1-over 73. Wilson parred all nine holes on the front nine for an even-par 36, then added birdies at Nos. 11 and 17 on the back nine.
 
Mason Fundingsland is tied for 31st at 4-over 148 after a 2-over 74 for the second straight day. He opened his round with a birdie at the par-5 first and added birdies at Nos. 10 and 17 on the back nine. Alfie Storer sits tied for 50th at 9-over 153 after improving by three shots to a 75. He played the back nine in 1-under 35 with birdies at Nos. 10 and 14. Stevenson is tied for 55th at 10-over 154 after a two-shot improvement to a 76. He birdied the fifth hole and parred 10 straight holes from Nos. 7 through 16.
 
As a team, FGCU leads the field with 37 birdies. Figueredo leads all individuals with 13 birdies, Fundingsland is tied for ninth with eight, and Wilson is tied for 16th with seven. Wilson and Storer are tied for 12th-most pars in the field with 23 apiece.
 
"Christian backed up a great first round with a solid, steady day and has put himself in a great spot for tomorrow. As a team, we've made more birdies than anyone in the field, but we need to limit the big numbers. We're right there with Grand Canyon and Troy, so we want to finish strong," head coach Lee McCoy said.
