FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's tennis was named an all-academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Seven athletes from the 2024-25 season were also named ITA scholar-athletes.

The Eagles make up 1,462 Division I women student-athletes across the nation who were named ITA scholar-athletes, and 222 women's tennis programs garnered the all-academic team distinction. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must post a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the entire academic year.
The Green and Blue held a 3.81 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year. During the spring, FGCU posted its 25th straight semester GPA of 3.5 or higher (3.86).
The following Eagles were recognized as 2025 ITA Scholar-Athletes:
Isabella Colmenares, Amelia Kopel, Gabriela Macias, Nora Svensson, Anjali Kotecha, Paloma Goldsmith and Ashley Matz.
On the courts in 2025, FGCU registered a 12-9 overall record and a 6-3 mark in league play.
Four Eagles earned ASUN postseason honors. Kotecha was named Freshman of the Year and joined Matz and Svensson on the All-Freshman team. Colmenares earned a spot on the Second Team All-ASUN.
