Povey joins FGCU men's tennis

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis has added Arizona State transfer Tanner Povey to the 2025 recruiting class Head Coach Josh Molino announced today.

"Tanner is a perfect fit for the university and tennis program. He is a stud on and off the court and has the pedigree to become one of the eagle tennis greats. We felt very comfortable with the Povey family, his brother Harrison has excelled with the baseball team, so we are confident in the caliber of person we are getting. Adding another Florida boy is a bonus and shows we can attract and keep the top talent in the state," Molino said.

Povey returns to Florida, originally from Belleair Bluffs, Florida. He was the No. 36 recruit in the 2024 class as a five-star recruit.

The former Sun Devil earned a 4-3 singles record and 7-6 doubles record while in Tempe. Povey was 3-1 and singles No. 2 and 3 and 7-4 and doubles No. 2.

Tanner is the brother of FGCU baseball standout Harrison Povey.
