Lousiane Gauthier weathered a windy day in Huntsville, Ala. to place second after round two as Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf is third, 10 strokes behind the leaders.
Conditions presented significant difficulties for all teams. The Eagles were able to handle the elements admirably as the team with the second closest performance to their round one performance of any team that shot lower than 20-over par in round one.
Gauthier shot 1-over during round two with two birdies to end her round. She birdied five holes on the day, going 1-under par through the front nine.
Posie Farrelly shot +6 with two birdies to start her round.
Amelie Alcantara carded 5-over but shot 1-under on her final seven holes.
Leonie Wulfers shot 4-over with 15 holes par-or-better.
Islay Benoit posted a 7-over round with two pars on her final two holes.
High scores were the norm. Teams on average scored five strokes higher than their round one score. Of teams that shot 20-over par or better in round one, the average score increase was 10.625. The leaders after round one, Stetson, shot 23 strokes worse in round two.
The Eagles will begin teeing off at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow.
