Women's golf fourth after day one of ASUN Championship

Lousiane Gauthier shot 1-under par to put her in a tie for third individually as Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf is in fourth place at 10-over par after one round of the ASUN Championship in Huntsville, Ala.

Gauthier came out strong, birdieing the par 5 second hole. She would not go above par for her entire round with four birdies on the day.

Posie Farrelly currently sits at 2-over par. She started her round with a birdie on the first hole but bogeyed three of the final four holes on the front nine to card +2 after nine holes. A birdie on 17 would bring her score back into the top 10 at ninth.

Amelie Alcantara shot 4-over on the day with a birdie on 17, the third Eagle to birdie the hole. Islay Benoit carded 5-over but shot par on every hole of the back nine. Leonie Wulfers rounded out the lineup at +9.

With the fourth place ranking, FGCU will tee off in the second to last group, starting at approximately 11 a.m. eastern.
