Women's golf places sixth at Coach Mo Classic

Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf concluded its final rounds before the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament on Tuesday with a sixth place finish at the Coach Mo Classic in St. Augustine, Fla.

The Eagles finished the day +34, 21 strokes behind the team champions Purdue who finished at +13. The best round of the day for FGCU was the second where they scored +9.

Posie Farrelly had the best performance as an individual. Farrelly posted the best round scores in the first and third rounds going +1 and +2 in those rounds, respectively, finishing +7 overall for a 13th place finish.

Lousiane Gauthier had the best performance in the second round, carding a 74, helping herself to a 24th place finish.

The only below par nine-hole score came from Islay Benoit on the back nine of the first round where she birdied holes nine and 11 before going par on every other hole other than 15 for a 1-under 35 on the back nine. Benoit would place 20th overall in the tournament at +9.

The Green and Blue are back in action on April 13 as the start the three-day ASUN Conference Championship in Huntsville, Ala.
