Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf took fifth place at the Puerto Rico Classic in Humacao, Puerto Rico, as the final round of the three-day event was canceled Thursday due to heavy rain.

UNCG was awarded the team title by closing at two-over par through official 36 holes of competition. FGGU (+12) ended round one on Tuesday in fourth place but would slip to fifth with a 297 during Wednesday's round-two effort. The Eagles produced a 291 (+3) to open the event.

James Madison's Hannah Rabb finished atop the player leaderboard at five-under. Amelie Alcantara paced the Eagles lineup overseas with an eighth-place performance, finishing even par with back-to-back 72s. Alcantara sank four birds on Wednesday.

Lousiane Gauthier and Posie Farrelly tied for 19th at four-over. Farrelly opened with a 72 and followed with a 76, while Gauither posted consistent rounds of 74.

The Eagles return to the course March 17-18 in Dade City, Florida, for the Spring Break Invitational, hosted by Western Kentucky University.
