Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla. – Anjali Kotecha once again clinched the match for Florida Gulf Coast University's women's tennis as the Eagles defeated St. John's University 4-1 Tuesday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

The Red Storm (7-4) won the doubles point to get the match started.  .

"The ladies completed hard today and they are getting better every time they compete," FGCU head coach Courtney Vernon said. "They are looking forward to playing the first conference match on Thursday."  
 
The Eagles (6-5) were unfazed after doubles and Paloma Goldsmith got straight to work winning 6-3, 6-1 on court No. 6 to tie the match 1-1. Francisca Vergara was close behind and delivered a 6-4, 6-2 win on court No.4.

Isabella Colmenares gave the Green & Blue a 3-1 advantage when she stormed to a 6-4, 6-3 win on court No. 2.

Kotecha clinched the match on court No. 1 delivering a 7-6 (6-4), 6-2 victory. It was her first time playing on the lead court for the Eagles.

FGCU will next welcome Bellarmine University (2-10) Thursday to open Atlantic Sun Conference play at 10 a.m.
