Baseball returns home to host in-state teams

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University baseball will host two Florida teams this week with USF coming to town on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. game and Bethune-Cookman playing the weekend series at Swanson Stadium.

The Eagles are coming off a 0-5 week with one loss to Miami and four losses to Georgia. Javier Gorostola continues to lead the way at the plate slashing .457/.510/.761. Justin Henschel has been the best on the mound for FGCU with a 0.00 ERA this season and 1.08 WHIP.

USF is led at the plate by Sebastian Greico who is slashing .344/.463/.844. The Bulls top pitcher is Corey Braun who has a 3.12 ERA and a .203 OBA.

Bethune-Cookman's best bat is Darryl Lee, a .300 hitter who has also stolen two bases. Tanner Boccabello is the leader on the mound with a 1.83 ERA and 0.86 WHIP.

Following this weekend, FGCU will begin a road swing starting with FIU on March 11.
