FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University baseball will play five games in the upcoming week with a home and home against USF on Tuesday and Wednesday followed with a weekend Atlantic Sun Conference series against newcomers West Georgia starting Wednesday.
Last week FGCU (8-11, 1-2 ASUN) dropped the final two games against Stetson in DeLand, Fla. after winning the ASUN opener on Friday.
The back-to-back battles with the Bulls (9-8, 0-0 AAC) is the result of a postponement earlier in the year. The Bulls and Eagles have played 30 games all-time with FGCU leading 22-8.
The Wolves (9-9, 1-2 ASUN) are a new team to DI and the ASUN conference. UWG took the second game of a doubleheader against Queens for their first conference win.
The Green and Blue have been searching for consistency on the mound with only one pitcher having thrown more than 20 innings this season with the team throwing over 150.
Jordan Vera has thrown the most innings with 21 to his record and a 6.00 ERA with 1.52 WHIP.
At the plate, three Eagles have an OPS that exceeds 1.000.
Harrison Povey leads the way with eight home runs on the season, tied for 23rd in the country.
