Eagles begin ASUN play with road week

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University baseball will take their show on the road for games against FIU on Tuesday and the Atlantic Sun Conference opener over the weekend at Stetson.

FIU is a familiar foe for the Eagles, having played 25 games against each other. The teams are evenly matched over the series' history with FGCU leading 15-10. However, the Panthers have won three of the last four.

FGCU starts ASUN play against Stetson in DeLand, Fla. The Hatters received eight of the 11 first place votes in the preseason poll with the Eagles taking two votes. Stetson is currently 8-8 on the season. FGCU is 6-9.

Following this week, the Green and Blue face USF on Tuesday and Wednesday home and before opening home ASUN play against conference newcomers West Georgia.
