Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis swept the service academies on Thursday and Friday with 4-3 wins against Air Force and Navy in Orlando, Fla.
Against Air Force, the doubles point was won with 6-3 victories on courts one and three from
Hugo Magnusson and
CJ Smith and
Stavros Hadjivarnava and
Harry Michalowski, respectively.
The singles action brought the match down to the wire with court four deciding the match.
Pablo Paternostro handled business with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory.
The Eagles came back the next day against Navy. The Midshipmen took the doubles point but the Green and Blue came roaring back, clinching on court five with
Ninad Raut winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
FGCU will have it's home opener on February 16 when it welcomes Auburn for a doubleheader. Action starts at 9 a.m.
