Alexander Named ASUN Newcomer of the Week

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Eve Alexander has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

The Florida A&M transfer turned in a standout performance during FGCU's dominant 120-32 victory over Fort Lauderdale, delivering the best outing of her young Eagles career. The sophomore forward poured in a career-high 24 points on an efficient 12-of-14 shooting effort, showcasing her touch around the rim and ability to finish through contact.

In addition to her scoring output, Alexander contributed across the stat sheet with seven rebounds and three assists, helping fuel FGCU's offensive rhythm while maintaining a strong interior presence on both ends of the floor. Her efficiency and activity in the paint were key as the Eagles controlled the game from start to finish.

"We're really proud of Eve and the growth she's shown," said Head Coach Raina Harmon. "Her energy, efficiency, and willingness to do the little things have made a big impact for us, and it's great to see her recognized by the conference."

Following Monday's contest against Columbia, the Eagles remain at home to open ASUN Conference play on New Year's Day, welcoming North Alabama to Alico Arena for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
