Eagles Shatter Records in 120–32 Victory Over Fort Lauderdale

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball team turned in a historic offensive performance on Monday afternoon inside Alico Arena, rolling past Fort Lauderdale, 120-32. FGCU set program single-game records for points (120), assists (34), and made field goals (49), while also posting the program's Division I record for largest margin of victory (88).

How It Happened
First Quarter: FGCU wasted no time asserting control, using defensive pressure and pace to force early turnovers and generate fast-break opportunities. Karina Gordon opened the scoring with a three-pointer, while Cerina Rolle and Eve Alexander finished consistently in the paint. The Eagles shared the ball and controlled the glass, building a 21-8 advantage after the opening 10 minutes.

Second Quarter: The Eagles' depth and tempo took over in the second, as FGCU exploded for 32 points in the frame. Airah Lavy sparked the offense with multiple three-pointers, and the Eagles continued to score in transition behind their aggressive defense. Jordan Campbell provided a boost off the bench, and FGCU's ball movement led to a steady stream of high-percentage looks as the Eagles carried a 53-14 lead into halftime.

Third Quarter: FGCU remained relentless coming out of the locker room, forcing turnovers and converting them into points at both ends of the floor. Rolle scored efficiently from all three levels, while Alexander dominated inside with finishes through contact and on the offensive glass. The Eagles poured in 35 points in the quarter, stretching the lead to 88-20 entering the final frame.

Fourth Quarter: The Eagles closed the afternoon with another strong offensive showing, tallying 32 points and assisting on the majority of their baskets. Sinai Douglas orchestrated the offense and attacked in transition, while Lavy continued to connect from deep. FGCU maintained its defensive intensity to the final horn, sealing the 120-32 victory.

FGCU tallied 120 points, 49 made field goals, 34 assists, 14 steals, 50 fast-break points, and 34 points off turnovers. The Eagles were led by Eve Alexander, who recorded a career-high 24 points on 12-of-14 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Airah Lavy added a career-best 22 points, knocking down five three-pointers while dishing out six assists and grabbing four rebounds, which are all also career-bests. Cerina Rolle finished with a career-high 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Jordan Campbell chipped in a career-high 14 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting night with three rebounds and two assists. Sinai Douglas filled the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals as the Eagles capped a record-setting afternoon.
