Women's Basketball Signs Elle McCulloch and Arianna Turla

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball and head coach Raina Harmon signed Elle McCulloch and Arianna Turla to the 2025 signing class Wednesday during the National Signing Day period.

Elle McCulloch (Brownsburg HS)
6'0" Guard/Forward
Brownsburg, IN

"Elle McCulloch is a terrific addition to our program," Harmon said. "Her length and versatility allow her to play multiple positions, and she has a real feel for putting the ball in the basket. What excites me most is her competitiveness and her willingness to do the little things like rebound, defend and impact the game beyond scoring."

McCulloch is a 6-foot guard/forward from Brownsburg, Indiana, where she plays at Brownsburg High School. In her junior season, she averaged 12.7 points, 2.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and two steals per game, while shooting an impressive 39.2 percent from three-point range and 95.8 percent from the free-throw line. Her strong all-around performance earned her All-State honorable mention, All-Conference, and All-County honors, and she tied the school's single-season record for made three-pointers with 71. Entering her senior campaign, she was named to the Preseason Central Indiana Super Team.

In the classroom, McCulloch has excelled as a member of the National Honor Society and received the AP Scholar with Honor Award. She plans to major in Business Management with a focus in Sports Management at FGCU.

"I loved the location and how supportive everyone was of all the athletic teams," McCulloch said. "I really enjoyed the coaching staff at FGCU as well as the players, and I thought my game fit well into the program."

Arianna Turla (Saint Paul Catholic HS)
6'0" Guard
Scarborough, ON

"Ari Turla is a dynamic guard who brings size, strength and skill to our backcourt," said Harmon. "She's a tough downhill driver who can finish in the paint, but she also keeps defenses honest with her ability to shoot from the perimeter. Ari's vision and passing ability make her a true playmaker and she embodies the kind of student-athlete we're proud to welcome to FGCU."

Turla is a 6-foot guard from Scarborough, Ontario, where she plays at Saint Paul Catholic High School. She has established herself as a versatile and dynamic playmaker throughout her high school career. Averaging 14 points per game, she brings size, strength, and skill to the Eagles' backcourt. Turla attacks the basket with power and confidence, using her strength to finish plays at the rim while maintaining the range to stretch the floor from beyond the arc. Her awareness and ability to read the game allow her to distribute the ball effectively, making her a creative and dependable playmaker for her teammates.

In the classroom, Turla has earned Honor Roll with Distinction and received the Proficiency Award for maintaining an average above 90 percent. She plans to major in Biology at FGCU.

"I chose FGCU because I saw the opportunity for me at this program to develop on and off the court," Turla said. "Since day one of my visit, Coach Raina, the coaching staff, and the team have been not only welcoming but have felt like family from the get-go. Don't get me wrong, being surrounded by beaches and nice weather doesn't come around often in Canada, but seeing how the players and coaches interacted on and off the court made me feel super excited to be an Eagle."
