Men's soccer to face Stetson

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer travels north to face Stetson in Deland, Fla. on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Eagles opened Atlantics Sun Conference play with a win at home against Jacksonville. Shoki Yoshida scored in the eighth minute to give FGCU the 1-0 lead.

The Green and Blue are 1-5-1 on the year, but are tied atop the ASUN conference standings with three points. Stetson joins FGCU at the top of the table with three points along with Central Arkansas.

The Hatters played a midweek match against Division II Eckerd College, falling 3-2. However, Stetson opened ASUN play with a win over North Florida last Saturday.

Around the ASUN, Lipscomb and Queens tied, securing one point to sit tied at fourth after one match. FGCU, Stetson, and Central Arkansas all sit on three points. The top six teams make it to postseason play. Nine points last year was good enough to get you in to the postseason on a tiebreaker.

Following this match, The Eagles return home for two matches. The first match is against Keiser on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m and North Florida on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
