FORT MYERS, Fla. –
Avery Viancos from softball and
Mac Moise from baseball have been named the Florida Gulf Coast University Suncoast Credit Union Scholar-Athletes of the Month for May.
Viancos helped the Eagles advance to the Gainesville Regional of the NCAA Softball Championship. A member of FGCU's Atlantic Sun Conference tournament-winning softball team, Viancos was also a member of the ASUN All-Academic Team and a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree . In the classroom, Viancos graduated in May with a psychology degree and 4.0 GPA.
Moise helped the Eagles clinch a share of the ASUN regular season championship. A Second Team All-ASUN member at catcher, Moise was hit by a program-record 27 pitches in 2024. His .486 on-base percentage was second-best on the team, with his 53 runs scored pacing the FGCU squad. In the classroom, Moise has a 3.69 GPA as he works toward his degree in construction management. He also earned CSC Academic All-District honors.
The Scholar-Athletes of the Month award was established in the 2011-12 season. Suncoast Credit Union has sponsored the recognition for the past three years.
