Sullivan signs professional contract with Fjölnir FC

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Former Florida Gulf Coast University women's soccer goalkeeper Katie Sullivan signed a professional contract overseas with Fjölnir FC in Iceland.

Founded in 1988, Fjölnir is a multi-sport club located in Grafarvogur, Reykjavík. Sullivan spent her final two seasons of her collegiate career with FGCU (2021-22), transferring in from Creighton.

The native of Wheaton, Illinois, recorded 14 shutouts between the pipes, seven each during her senior and graduate student seasons with the Eagles. Sullivan started in 35 games during her two years in the Green and Blue, collected a 21-11-3 overall record and corralled 80 career saves – none other bigger than in the 2022 ASUN Championship match against top-seeded Liberty.

Sullivan clinched the ASUN Tournament title with a diving save in the fifth round of penalty kicks to send the Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament in five years (seventh all-time), undoubtedly earning the ASUN's Most Valuable Player Award. Sullivan was also named an ASUN Third Team selection during the championship-winning season and took home CSC Academic All-District honors.

She recorded a total of 133 saves in her Eagle career, ranking fourth all-time in program history. Her 80 saves in 2022 placed fourth all-time in FGCU's single-season records. Sullivan holds the program record for individual career saves per game, with 3.69 saves over 36 official matches. She snagged five or more saves in 11 of her 36 match appearances.
